Delaney is here!!

I think this might have been my longest blog break ever!!  I am sad that I let blogging slip away these past few months.  I am going to set a goal to 2x a week and hopefully I will blog more as time goes by.

Well since my last blog update I had a baby!!  ;)
She is here, she is perfect, she is beautiful, and truly is a gift from God.
Delaney Hope was born on July 15th at 8:59 a.m. weighing 8 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 20.5 inches long.  She looks just like her big sister did when she was born and also favors her Daddy SO much!!

We are overjoyed with the hope and healing she has brought to our family.

GOD IS SO GOOD!

I will update with  more pictures from the past few weeks next but until then enjoy these pictures we had taken in the hospital on her birthday :)

Love,
Melissa

We are so blessed and thankful to God for this baby.

Most of our family and friends know but I had to tell the blog world as well!!

Thank you in advance for all the prayers for a safe pregnancy...we need them.

MEND Walk to Remember 2012

Continuing with the grief project, I'm going to combine Day 6 (What not to say) and Day 7 (What to say) together and save them for tomorrow.  Instead of the grief project, I want to share with you our pictures from the Walk to Remember we attended today.  It is our 2nd MEND walk to attend and even though it was pretty chilly and gray it still ended up being a beautiful day that honored hundreds of sweet babies.  Daniel was even asked to play the bagpipes so that made it that much more special for our family :)

So thankful to MEND for putting together such a precious day to remember our two angels in Heaven.  We were blessed by our family and friends that were there to support us.

The truth about grief...

Daniel and I received our 3rd book in the grief series from our pastor yesterday.  The title of this book is, "Finding Hope and Healing".

I think that's a fitting title because without hope I would never heal.  I know I'm not going to heal completely on earth.  But hope does give me the reassurance that I will heal in the presence of Jesus.

I found a few quotes in the book that really stuck out to me about grief and I wanted to share them with you...

"Grief is a choppy two steps forward, one step backward experience." -Therese Rando

"Grief comes in and out like waves from the ocean.  Sometimes when you least expect it, a huge wave comes along and pulls your feet right out from under you." -Alan Wolfelt

"No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear" -C.S. Lewis

"If you're going through hell keep going." -Winston Churchill

"Tears are the silent language of grief."-Voltaire

They are very simple quotes but they are powerful.  I can put my grief in each of them.

So tonight the truth about my grief is that it's never ending here on earth.  It is always there, always changing, always hurting...

I love this quote...
I really can't think of a better way to describe hope.

Heavenly Father, You are the only one who knows my sorrow.  My body is enveloped in pain and grief, but I know there is hope because of you.  Help me to live out that hope.  Amen

I love you Hadley D'Layne!!

In Christ's Love,
