3 year Anniversary and a year of dating ahead!!

Daniel and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on Wednesday.  I can't believe how fast the time has gone...I guess that's what happens when you are incredibly happy and blessed!!  I did have to work of course but Daniel had Briley that day so he surprised me and came to school with her and lunch for us both!!  I had already eaten lunch :) but it's the thought that counts, right??  It was such a nice surprise and my kiddos always love to see Mr. Bufe and Briley!!

That evening, we took Briley to my Mom's so Daniel and I could go have a nice dinner at Texas Land and Cattle.  It was really nice to sit and have a great conversation and talk without interruptions but we both did feel like a little something was missing from our steak dinner, but we knew she was being well taken care of at her Gigi's!!

Instead of giving each other gifts this year we decided on something different.  I read on one of Briley's sitter's blogs The Vanderveer's (Joey, Kyle, and Max...adorable family and Kyle always writes the most witty and cute blogs) that instead of giving each other Christmas gifts, they were going to give each other 12 Dates through the year (like the 12 days of Christmas).  I mentioned it to Daniel and he liked the idea too, so since we were too late for Christmas we decided we would do this for our anniversary.  We flipped a coin and I got the even months and he got the odd months.  We set rules that we couldn't tell each other anything about the dates until our anniversary and we had to try and think of unique dates that went beyond dinner and a movie.  So, on Wednesday night we revealed our 12 dates we have set from next month until April 2011.  As you will see...Daniel way outdid me on the revealing process and we also thought very similiar on some dates (the exact same date!).
The dates I thought of are in pink and Daniel's are in blue:

May 2010
A tour of Cowboys Stadium

June 2010
A tour of Cowboys Stadium
(Yes, we thought of the same date...I have to think of another date since his month comes first)

July 2010
Renting jet ski's on Lake Grapevine

August 2010
Daniel teaching me how to shoot at the gun range and lunch at Cooper's BBQ

September 2010
A trip to the Oklahoma State Fair to see Josh Turner (Melissa's favorite!!)

October 2010
Drive-in Movie at the Galaxy Theater in Ennis

November 2010
Holiday in the Park at Six Flags
December 2010
Ice skating at Polar Ice in Grapevine Mills Mall and
walking around downtown Grapevine drinking hot chocolate

January 2011

February 2011
Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History Planetarium Show

March 2011
Drive-In Movie in Granbury (Daniel has to think of another one)

April 2011

So there they are...our 12 dates of the year!!  I can't wait to start dating my husband again :)  I'll end with this card that only Daniel would buy!!

Opening Day!!

On Monday we took Briley to her very first Ranger's Game.  What better game to be your first than Opening Day??  We started the morning off getting the 3 of us all decked out in our Texas Ranger gear :)

Thank you Aunt Linda for my cute Texas Ranger outfit!!  We also had to buy Briley her first set of Nike tennis shoes :)  Pink of course...what else is there??

I had to admit, I was a little stressed about packing everything for her that day in a VERY small bag...I had everything all ready in a backpack and on our way there I notice on the back of the ticket it says, NO BACKPACKS in bold.   I was about to freak out :) but luckily, we had a small diaper bag/backpack that I was able to stuff everything into.  I made the best of it and told myself I over-packed anyways...which I did!!  Here is Briley in her new stroller we got her just for the game...I have a feeling we will take a lot of zoo trips in the stroller this summer.  She looks SO big to me in this picture!!
We were invited to go to the game with Auntie Mariah and her friends, John and Whitney.  John was awesome enough to get our tickets in the ALL YOU CAN EAT section.  I was almost a little more excited about that than the game...I mean how can you beat all you can eat BALLPARK hot dogs and nachos??  Here is Briley and I cheering and dancing to the music at the opening of the game.  Have I mentioned that our daughter LOVES music??  Anytime she hears any kind of music (right now she is a fan of country) she starts moving her little legs and bouncing up and down.  This beyond thrills me...I can only hope she has as much rhythm as her Mom :) hehehehe...right Uncle Andrew???)
The picture below is of the flag they brought out for the National Anthem...it was SO AMAZING.  When they were bringing it out they just kept coming and coming, Daniel and I couldn't believe how big it was!!
Here are our matching Mom/Daughter Texas Ranger tattoos :) Thanks John for buying them!!
Her Daddy definitely won't forget taking her to her 1st game!!  Below, is right after their 1st homerun of the season...Daniel just threw her up in the air and of course my little daredevil LOVED it!!  She also loved the fireworks they shot out too!!
YEA...we won!!!!  Auntie Mariah said Briley has to go to a lot more games because she brought them good luck!!
We had so much fun going to our 1st Rangers game as a family of 3 :)  If it would have been left up to Daniel she would have gone last summer when she was just a month old!!  I think he is glad we waited to take her though...much more fun when she can enjoy it :)
She really did so good at the game.  It was very crowded and she basically had to sit in our laps for 4 hours going back and forth between Daniel and I.  She loved turning around and looking at the people behind us, luckily they didn't mind a 10 month old staring at them and they even complimented her on how well she did!!
We definitely wore her out!!  She only had about an hour nap and she was so great!!  We hopefully plan to try and go to opening day every year as a family :)

So, had to end today's blog with a video of Briley walking!!  She was just taking a few steps, 3-4 at the most.  Well now I would say we are getting 10-15 steps at a time!!!  She is growing up SO fast!!

Have a blessed week!!

Easter Weekend

What a fun and busy weekend we had!!  It was so awesome to spend time with family and friends...and even though we did a lot of running around, I really enjoyed my weekend with Daniel and Briley.  On Saturday, I got our little one up bright and early to get her 9 month pictures taken.  I have had pictures taken of her every 3 months (whether it be professional or just a studio) and I was not going to let 9 months pass us by!!  Daniel was leaving the fire station and meeting us there, so Briley and I headed to Portrait Innovations for our 8:30 a.m. appointment.  I know I sound a little crazy for getting a 9 month old out this early for pictures, but it was PERFECT.  We were the 2nd appt. there and we got in and out in about an hour.  That is my plan for the next time we have pictures with them...get there bright and early!!  Here are a few of my favorites...

After our pictures, we came home and had lunch and a much needed nap and then headed to our church's Easter Egg Hunt/Carnival.  It was such a blast!!  My family and Daniel's family came to see Briley find her Easter Eggs...it was SO neat to see her do big girl things, but it was also a little sad because I can't believe our little girl is going to be one soon!!  Here are some of my favorite pictures from Saturday.

Riding my first pony!!

Easter morning, Briley headed straight to her basket and was very curious of what was inside...

I picked him up to put it on the floor for her and this is the response I got...
She thought I was taking it away from her and was VERY sad!!  Before we headed off to church we had to get a  picture of the three of us...

Playing with Papa before church starts

My Gigi was so happy I was in church with her!!  I love how she is looking at you Mom...so sweet :)

All the Bufe's Easter morning

After church we headed to Daniel's Nanny's for yummy Easter lunch and more Egg hunting...Briley is definitely a pro at this by now!!

Love those chubby cheeks and legs!!

Going down the slide...with Daddy's help!!

After getting full at Nanny's what did we do after that?  Well head to my Mom's of course to eat some more yummy food!!

Gigi and Uncle John "hid" the eggs for Briley...hahaha
I love taking pictures like this...I know Briley will treasure this years from now.  She is so loved by these two women...and her Mom of course!!

I would say June-bug had a great Easter weekend!!

Looking at these pictures makes me realize how blessed we are.  I can't think of a better way to end this blog then to share a quick little story that happened to one of the kindergarten teachers that I work with.  She was walking around the room while her kids were working and she noticed two of her girls were talking quietly and not working.  One was whispering and the other was listening VERY intently.  She walked over there and was getting ready to get onto them when she heard this, "So then the people went inside the tomb and HE WAS GONE...he wasn't dead anymore, he was actually ALIVE!!".  The little girl's eyes got extremely big and she told the other little girl that she had never heard that story before.

As sad as it makes me to hear that was the first time that little girl had heard that story, how AWESOME is it that she has now been given a glimpse into the amazing power of CHRIST!!

Hope you and your family had a blessed Easter weekend!!

Love,
