Daniel's Birthday!!

My husband is a St. Patty's Day baby and turned 28 on Thursday!!  We started the day by letting Daniel sleep in and then giving him his birthday cards from myself and Briley.  Here is the card Briley gave him...so cute!!

We went to lunch, just the three of us, at Daniel's favorite restaurant near us, Lonesome Spur Cafe. It is in Justin and it is SO good!!  We love having any excuse to go eat there.  If you live nearby click on the link so you can check it out.  It is definitely worth the drive but they have weird hours so make sure you look before you go!!

After that we came home and took naps (well Briley and I took naps and Daniel ran to Home Depot) and rested before more eating!!  We headed into town to pick up Daniel's Dad for dinner but first we stopped by Bluebonnet to see Hadley and Nonnie on Daniel's birthday.

The spot we picked is called Legacy.  I love that.  Tammie has left such an amazing Legacy for her children and grandchildren and sweet Hadley, as small as she was, has also left the most wonderful Legacy in our family and to others.
Briley and her Daddy going to see Nonnie and Hadley.  They are right next to each other.  We wouldn't have it any other way.  Daniel and I already have purchased spots there.  We did when his Mom passed away.  Not something you imagine doing before you are 30 but we can't imagine not being next to our sweet Hadley or his Mom.  Luckily that is just where our bodies will rest...we will be rejoicing in Heaven with Hadley and Tammie when God calls us home.  I love that as soon as we pull into Bluebonnet Briley starts saying, "Nonnie, Nonnie!".  We are teaching her to say Hadley too.  I don't want her to be afraid to go there.  I feel so close to Hadley when I go and I want Briley to feel the same.

We picked up Daniel's Dad and met Mariah at Daniel's favorite barbecue place around, Coopers BBQ!!!  It is in downtown Ft. Worth and Daniel loves it.  We went there last year for his birthday and I have a feeling it is going to become a tradition.  Here are some pictures from last year and this year.  It is hard to not see Tammie in these pictures but I know she is looking down on us and holding Hadley!!
I love how she could barely see over the table last year and look at her now!!  Oh what a difference a year can make right?

It's weird trying to find a new "normal" after everything that has happened.  Celebrating birthday's and holiday's without Tammie or Hadley is going to be REALLY hard this year.  I know the pain will get easier with time...and I know God has wonderful things in store for my family.

On Friday night we continued the celebrating and went out to eat with my family for Daniel's birthday.  We went to Rosa's and Daniel and I had the best fajitas!!  We would rather go there and eat fajitas then any fancy Mexican restaurant for sure.  Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of that night but I did manage to take a few pictures before we left of Briley Ann in her cute outfit :)
It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get her to look at the camera lately.  Oh well, still cute :)

During the day on Friday, we started working on Hadley's garden on the side of our house.  As soon as Daniel and I brought home all of the flowers from the service, we knew we had to try and save a few of them and make a garden for our Hadley.  Here is the progress so far....
I also ordered a beautiful garden sign that will say...
Hadley's Garden
Forever in our Hearts

I can't wait to get it in the mail!!  We are going to plant some yellow flowers around the pink ones.  The rose bushes were already there and when they start to bloom mixed in with the other flowers I think it is going to be beautiful...just like our Hadley.

I hope your weekend is treating you well.

I've been doing a lot of cleaning!!  More on that later.

In Christ's Love,

I'm loving these posts!! And coming from someone who is in graduate school for counseling, you are using amazing-healthy healing outlets (journaling/blogging, gardening, pictures etc). I am so proud of you and can't wait to see where all of this takes you. :)
